Learning to change – changing to learn

This is an interesting video from the Pearson Foundation looking at the future of education. It has educators from across the country talking about what needs to change to make our approach to education more relevant and powerful in the 21st century.

Stephen Hempel’s statement at the end of that presentation really sticks with me. “It’s the death of education and the dawn of learning,” he stated, “which makes me very happy.”

Here also is British Columbia’s new education plan in YouTube format (3 minutes). It is interesting how similar it is to the Alberta version – Inspiring Education and the Canadian Rockies Public Schools version – Inspiring Hearts and Minds.
